police olympic week

what a week this has been! so glad it is over but what fun we had! the third week of june is always the police & fire games. sarasota was the host agency again this year. chris was the director for all the mounted events which included inspection, equitation, day & night obstacles, gym khana, jumping and dressage. he had several arenas going on at one time. needless to say, it was quite the undertaking. i am very proud of what he accomplished. he had a lot of help from volunteers and without them it would have been impossible for him to pull it off. 3 people from his unit medaled. bill kuchar got bronze in equitation and rich starowesky got silver in inspection. and of course, chris got the gold in jumping with guardian. i am so proud!

i competed in volleyball. monday, tiki & i played beach volleyball doubles. we made it to the finals and lost to a team we had already beaten. we played in the pouring down rain! we ended up with silver. wednesday, we broke up our 6 man team to have 2 triples teams. my team consisted of my best friends husband david, and his friend mike. they are both fire/medics in orlando. tiki, bryant and greg (all from the police department) made up our other triples team. once again my team made it to the finals but lost to tiki and her team. we got the silver again. then friday, our 6 man team won the gold! it was a lot of fun. we are all very sore. last night we all met at roys hawaiian fusion to celebrate our win and leann & david's 6th wedding anniversary. i will post pictures later. you can go to this website: www.lawgames.photoreflect.com to see pictures from the olympics. a photography club went around to all the events taking photos. needless to say, we slept in today. chris and david played golf while leann and i spent some much needed girl time shopping.

chris & i are now counting down to our trip to montana. we fly out 2 weeks from today. it will be nice to get away from here for a while. troutzilla, here i come...
