the house... the bank is finally moving on it. they inquired 2 weeks ago to see if we were still interested... INTERESTED?!?! hello... it's MY house! the other offer has since been pulled so our patience is being rewarded. also, the bank reappraised the house. in 5 months, the value has dropped another $40K. good for us. so, we are still being patient and still believing it is ours. believe with us!
2 weekends ago, billy, amy, will and the kids came down for the weekend. always such a treat to have such wonderful company. we went to the beach, fed horses, rode horses. and i must say my nephew is going to be quite the rider. both he and bailey rode guardian. bales was done in about 5 minutes. she did great riding on her own. will, let me tell you...he was on guardian for about 30 minutes. and he had that horse over every obstacle in that arena. that's more than i can do or have even tried. he was so relaxed and not an ounce of fear in his body. i think amy and i were more concerned than anyone else. and of course, none of us had the camera. we were in awe! great job will!
amy brought the Twilight movie with her for us to watch. i figured, how bad could it be since i have not read any of the books or gotten into the Twilight hype. well, i know understand the enthusiasim my cousin had and i share that with her. it's addicting. i immediately bought the first book (which i should have bought all 4 at once) and the movie. already on the second book and have seen the movie i think 3 times now. i've been bitten by Twilight! what passion. and the best part...i love watching sappy romance movies (now) thinking wow, how great would that be to have that kind of passion, that kind of unconditional love. and i smile at the thought of chris. he has always made me feel like i belong in a fairy tale love story.
so i have been trying to plan a surprise weekend get-away for chris. the first attempt was superbowl weekend. that didn't work so the first weekend in april was the next attempt. i kept reminding him that friday through monday, we was all mine. what a weekend. friday, we both had the day off. i got my haircut (planned it the same day i knew we would have something that night) since we were going to a concert that night. we went with a 3 other ladies from church to see Isreal & Newbreed and Chris Tomlin. they are both Christian artists (my first Christian concert). it was a great time. such a fresh breath of air to see that many people gathered together who still believe.
saturday morning, i had our bags packed and we were off to...bonita springs. it's about on hour south of here so makes for a quick drive. the hyatt regency coconut point resort is in estero and is on the intercoastal water. it's a beautiful resort with lush landscape, several pools, one with a waterslide, rock climbing wall, fire pit. heaven! we ate lunch at hemingways and i told chris that he had a 2 o'clock tee time. the course, raptor bay, is part of the resort. it's the only course in the world that has some eco-friendly award or something. it was a very florida friendly beautiful course. i rode in the golf cart with my new found hobby, the Twilight book. i read while he played golf. we were both very relaxed. he played quite well and it was a tough course. there were these grasshoppers everywhere!!! and then i spotted an eagle flying around. he stopped long enough for a few pictures.
saturday night, we went to famous dave's for some good bbq. sunday, we slept in, had breakfast and then chris was off for some more golf. this time, i stayed at the resort to relax by the pool. i think i got down there at around 11 and did not leave till chris got back which was around 6. it was wonderful. cabana boys serve you poolside. had my Twilight book. i was relaxed. chris had a great day of golf. he ended up meeting this guy from indiana. they hit it off quite well. so well they ended up playing about 3 rounds and exchanged phone numbers. i guess he comes down quite a bit to play. that night, we went to pf changs for dinner.
monday, we got a late check out. chris sat in the hot tub while i read some more. then we stopped at bass pro on the way home. it was very nice to have my husband all to myself for 4 whole days in a row! very rare with our schedules. we both needed that time away.
chris has worked the past 2 nights so i have started on the next book in the Twilight series, New Moon. i gotta say, i'm a little upset so far. good, but i don't like the way it's going. i will press through my emotions and read on! stacy's Twilight party looked like such a riot! hopefully when the alabama crew comes down at the end of the month, we can have another one.
after chris left for work tonight, i went and fed. i rode the 4 wheeler through the pasture and on the way back, saw a beautiful fox running towards the back pasture. then i noticed something else out of the corner of my eye...5 baby foxes!!! i had my phone with me so i snapped a quick picture of one of the babies. they were confused and did not run off with momma, but she kept a watchful eye so i did not get off the 4 wheeler. i got home and grabbed my camera and walked to the fence line to get some better pictures. i was not sure where momma was so i kept my distance. they were the cutest little things! they chased each other, pounced on each other, they were having a ball.
work is busy for both of us. with the new sheriff, there has been a lot of reorganization at the sso. all for the better. we both like this guy. the new sheriff actually is looking at some criminal charges on the old sheriff. chris has a new chain of command. he is beyond thrilled about that! my work has been quite busy well. just very thankful we both have secure jobs. so that's us for the past month. just enjoying life, enjoying each other, thankful for all our many blessings.

You two always find a way to have a great time together! Thanks for FINALLY posting...it's been killing me, I log on here everyday looking for new posts. LOL
looks like you guys have been busy! hooray for jumping on the twilight bandwagon. i'll be honest... i never thought i would, either. but... no going back now.
the second one was a hard read for me. however, it does pick up in a big way towards the end. keep it up. i will say that after i read it a second time (as with all the other books as well) i looked at things a whole other way. it still isn't my favorite... but i have an easier time getting through it.
and our twilight party is so on.
